LUR Text Amendment for Recreation Camp, Retreat or Outdoor Education Facility. Applicant is Ms. Andrea Barlow of N.E.S Inc. representing Sanborn Western Camps and other similar facilities in Teller County.
This application went through three revisions and was ultimately not approved by the Teller County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC). However, the BOCC directed Staff (Planning Dept.) to work on a solution for the underling issue that would permit these camp facilities a way to obtain permission to perform repairs and minor expansion at minimal expense imposed by the planning process.

Response originally due on 27 Aug 2014. We have an extension.
Review extension requested & approved. Reply due by close of business September 19, 2014.
At the 27 August meeting of the DPC a representative of the applicant explained the proposed change and we discussed this change with the committee members, public, and the applicant representative. A Draft of our reply to the county is below in the Attachments and will be the subject of the next meeting (September 3, 2014 at the same time and location - Lost Dutchman Resort / 7 PM).
At the 03 September 2014 meeting it was agreed to include minor changes to the draft reply. Those changes are in the attached Revised Response, below. The intent is to finalize this response at the scheduled September 11, 2014 Community Meeting.
At the 11 September 2014 Community meeting held at the Little Chapel of the Hills in Divide the Committee agreed to respond with the revised version and signed that letter. See final version sent to the county, below.
The TC Planning Commission Public Hearing is scheduled for 25 Nov 2014 at the Woodland Park City Council Chambers starting at 7 PM.
14 November 2014 - received response letter from applicant with answers to concerns along with revised TC-LUR proposed changes - these two documents are available below.
19 November 2014 - received Teller County Planning Dept. Staff Report for this LUR change. Staff Report added to the attachments, below.
25 November 2014 - Teller County Planning Commission public Hearing on this application. The Planning Commission agreed to Continue this topic after further work sessions & meetings with a possible re-write of the LUR changes. The Divide Planning Committee as well as the 4-Mile Planning Committee is expected to be included in the meetings on this topic. Continuation is to the Feb/Mar 2015 time frame.
14 January 2015 - TCPC Work Session is scheduled for Tuesday, 7 PM, 27 Jan 2015 at the Woodland Park City Council Chambers. Public is invited to attend and listen only, there will be no public input allowed.
20 February 2015 - Third revision (dated 16 Feb) from applicant and letter to TC Planning Staff added to Attachments, below. DPC will meet with applicant before the 10 March continued TCPC public hearing.
25 February 2015 - DPC meeting with applicant. Bad weather prevented a quorum, thus no action taken. DPC will be polled for opinions about supporting this third revision. Meeting Minutes are included in the attachments below. A letter was sent to County with the results of the DPC member poll for the third revision.
10 March 2015 - TCPC voted to "Recommend Approval" on the third revision. So this application goes to the TC-BOCC who has approval authority for LUR changes.
23 April 2015 - TC-BOCC voted to not approve this text change to the LUR, but directed staff to work on a solution to the underlining issue. So, this application is dead but the subject should be addressed later by TC Planning Staff.
