Divide Planning Committee Organization Meeting 22 Jan 2014

The first meeting to organize a new Divide Planning Committee was held at the Mountain Memorial Funeral Home in Divide on 22 Jan 2014 at 7:00 PM. A hardy thank you goes out to Stephen  Tomsky for providing his establishment to hold these meetings.

Approximately 30 people attended this meeting.

Organization

There was a discussion of how to organize the Committee. Should we use member categories as was done in the past or some other scheme for committee members?  Because there was a good mix of private residents and businesses represented at the meeting it was decided to simply list the persons who would like to be on the Committee and go from there. Those persons interested in being on the Committee added their contact information to the list; there are 20 names on the list.

By-Laws

We need rules to adhere to, but the Committee has more pressing business; that of the pending change application. It was agreed that reviewing the current or drafting new By-Laws and Processes used for the Committee will be addressed at subsequent meetings, but we can not put this off too long.  The existing (unofficial) By-Laws document is available on the Website for all to review and begin to make suggestions on how to change that document. There was some discussion on using Internet-based collaborative document tools to effect updating the By-Laws document.  Those knowledgeable on such tools should be prepared to make suggestions at a subsequent meeting.

Pending Change Application

There was a short introduction to the pending LUR Text Change application presented by Deni Davidson (one of the creators of this proposal). The full text of the change application is available on the Website. The cover letter with maps was added to the Website as requested at the meeting.
